The Necker Cube

Most people perceive this collection of lines as a three dimensional cube.

The cube either points down to the left or up to the right. There is a tendency for the perception to flip back and forth between these two views.

Click on the image to see an illustration of these two possible views. Click again to show the Necker cube.

Of course, there is no cube, just a collection of lines on a flat surface.
